Yikes ... my first issues with the granturismo

Hi guys so I have had a reputable local garage look at the air con and they have said its the blower motor which requires replacing. However when they called maserati to order the parts they were advised that as the car a 2010 gts auto the new blower motor needs to be replaced along with a new ecu? Is this something other people have come across? Thanks guys

Reputable or not, unless they are Maserati specialists I would be getting a second opinion.
Hopefully resolution is not too painful
