Where to buy a MAF sensor

Hi All,

Many thanks to all you have helped me previously, very much appreciated I can assure you.

I do have a question though as everytime I start my 4200 04 reg (40,000 miles), it starts fine and revs ok ish, but when put into gear, it bogs down and revs roughly until I give it a bigger bootfull (not till its warm though). Its done this since iv owned it (3 months now).
I have just changed my front two O2 sensors as one was poorly, and runs better now too.

Now am I having a problem or is this a "they all do that sir" thing ? Also is it the cats filling with condensation upon first start as once reved up, it kind of clears up 80%, or is this signs that my MAF sensor could do with replacement, as Im happy to do whatever to get it running nice.

Its had a full service prior to me buying it with all plugs etc changed at Fiorrelli (or however its spelt) so its in good order there.
Once warm or fully hot it runs nice, or nice to me as I don't know any different.

I wouldn't mind changing the MAF anyway to eliminate it, does someone have a good supplier please, iv read through loads of posts with MAF as a primary word but have as of yet not found a definative supplier and was hoping there is a MAF out there which is the same as our ones but through say - Alfa's or Fiat ? or through a supplier specialist, not Maserati if I can help it as I need to get the kids something for christmas !!!

Many thanks

Gary

Fossy,
I think that is either a Bosch, or a Magnetti Morelli unit. There was a thread on here some time ago, hopefully someone will come on who has done this and give you the right information. Have you had a look on Eurospares..??

Look at "sticky" http://www.sportsmaserati.co.uk/sho...tive-parts-what-everyone-needs-to-know/page30

But avoid the cheap OEM from manufacturer ARCHER that I tried. It had a bad calibration curve and I lost some power in the middle revs. So instead I bought an original Volvo V70 MAF with Bosch sensor. Unscrew the sensor part an fit it back in the original venturi housing. Make sure that the replacement sensor also have a temperature sensor (looks like a small diode). Not everyone of the MAF's have that mounted as default.

Update,

My mate works in a Ford dealership and runs the parts dept, and they deal with Bosch all the time, so hopefully he can get the part with a bit of love included in the price.

I totally don't trust the V70 part as it s part no. finishes with a different no. and know they are all different in their calibration, and if I can get the right part cheap enough, good news all round.

Ask Bosch who stocks the part, or can get it, near you.??

If he can't get one, that will be my next step.
Once iv sourced one at the right price, I will add it to the thread which is running for parts sourced elsewhere. I'll include links and costs, hope it helps others in the future too.

Many thanks for your help pal .

Almost all, probably all, Bosch Mafs (insert part) of this mechanical design have the same calibration curve. Then the output signal vs air mass is up to the cross sectional area of the venturi housing. I'm 100% sure of F00C2G2044 (Maserati) ,F00C2G2030 or F00C2G2033 are all the same. By the way I run personal best 12.99 s on the 1/4 mile with my Spyder in September with my new Volvo/Bosch MAF. So I'm 100% confident.

Spydercc is right there i think.
I used the insert of an Alfa 147 complete MAFsensor for my Gransport and it runs perfect.
The insert itself had the same Bosch number as the original, while the complete sensor had a different bosch number.

Beware for some Chinese equivalents though, i hear some bad stories about them.

An oft discussed issue on the Alfa boards. The knock-off MAF's were popular for a while, and then they weren't cos they lasted about 15 minutes.
