MATTHEW YATES
OPERATIONS DIRECTOR
Matt (Conaero) is a name known to many within Maserati and Ferrari circles. Matt started his first business in Graphics and Media back in early 90's. Whilst he excelled in this field, cars were always his passion.
Matt’s initial venture into Italian marques was with his first love...Alfa Romeo. Not only content to drive and enjoy his Italian mistress, Matt also possesses an inquisitive and technical mind set. Many an afternoon was spent researching repair of these technical masterpieces. In the mid 90’s he dipped his first toe into the Maserati marque and the rest as they say is history.
In 2010, Matt created www.SportsMaserati.com to share his love and technical expertise with others to help further the brand experience.
Today, www.SportsMaserati.com is the global largest dedicated Maserati forum with over a million posts and 10k members. Primary tasks other than helping others and further the Maserati brand is to organise UK & European trips to aid members to fully exploit their cars. In addition to this, Matt has developed several parts and upgrades for Maseratis including bespoke brake discs and touchscreen CarPlay retrofit units.
In 2019, Matt was invited to assist in the setup of SportsItalia. His stewardship grew this quickly and achieved a great reputation for honest, reliable service. In 2024 Matt broke away to concentrate on a dedicated Maserati experience and formed SportsMaserati Limited.
SportsMaserati Limited today continues in that vein of honest, reliable service and boasts a full customer book.
JAYDON NUTBEAM
WORKSHOP DIRECTOR
Jaydon started life as an apprentice with SportsItalia where he was developed under the wing of Matthew Yates, then director of SportsItalia.
Matt and Jaydon formed a solid team where they undertook the majority of the Maserati work coming through the door.
Upon completing his apprenticeship and passing his exams with flying colours, Jaydon knew of Matts desire to move forward on his own so Jaydon took a spell at Hendys Landrover in Eastleigh.
During his time there he worked on a variety of JLR products, not just Landrover. He applied what he had learnt at SportsItalia and continued to do things the right way. Complicated engine rebuilds with the Ingenium and SVR V8 issues were a daily undertaking.
Upon learning that Matt had formed SportsMaserati Limited, Jaydon was invited as director at the age of 21 which he duly accepted.
Matt has high expectations and knowing of Jaydon's enthusiasm and technical ability made this easy choice.
Jaydon today runs the workshop overseeing all the higher technically challenging jobs from clutch, gearbox and F1 repair, variator and chain replacements to full engine strip down.
