Been to Whittlebury quite a few times on business.

It's a bit of a sprawling place and always busy. Always found it lacking in character and expensive. Having said that the deal you have Matt sounds good but the bar there is pricey. Very pricey. Probably worth bearing in mind if a late night session is on the cards!

Depends what you want but characterful and intimate it ain't.

Dem, Loz's suggestion of the Sharnbrok couldn't do the 8th, but I think Matt is negotiating the deal with the Whittlebury for the 8th.

The place we've stayed in previous years was probably similar Dave. I'm not too fussed about the hotel being corporate so long as the rooms are cheap enough and clean, but if we're doing a room / restaurant deal, I would like the restaurant to be a nice environment and serving good food. The evening meal in previous years has been great in that regard. I also get what you're saying about bar prices, but at that time of year I think any hotel bar will be expensive.

Dave thanks for the heads up.

I think what we need to remember here is why we are moving the venue from last year....a rip off bar, so this disturbed me somewhat.

Last year we were getting done somewhere between £9-12 for a large G&T.

Yeah....I thought we at least get them served by a topless Pippa Middleton for those sorta prices!!

Certainly wouldn't do for 30 odd Maseratisti to be walking around with hip flasks , good job i dont really drink , more important for me to have a decent menu

Ok, heard back from the Wittlebury and they wont budge on price so its £120 for a room and 3 course and half a bottle of wine per head based on 2 sharing, either double or twin. Its about £20 more for a single room.

I have requested the drinks tariff.

Sorry been away for a while and just catching up on this thread, so for clarity its the 8th December and price includes the evening meal at the hotel? Sounds like a bargain!

So to be clear , thats £120 for two people including 2 meals with or without breakfast
