Hi,
had my QP in for a service about a fortnight ago and the technician told me that the engine was showing up as misfiring on 3 cyclinders. Using the computer he looked at what DMS had done and said this 'may' be a reason for the misfires. His concern was that with repeated misfires the front catalytic convertors can overheat due to their proximity to the engine which over a longer period causes the internal material to breakdown which can then be sucked back into the engine and trash it. He cleared all the error codes and ran the car again and no misfires occured so its possible the error code could have been there a long while (eg pre DMS). He said the main reason for misfires was when the spark plugs aren't changed at the correct interval. Mine were only changed last year so he thought the remap may be an issue.
I like the car post DMS and my thoughts go to the front catalytic convertors. Could you replace these with straight through pipes thereby eliminating the problem altogether?
