Shall we invite someone 'random' to our trip..
Just bought a Grancab and joined this forum, but I'm a lifelong Le Mans fan an back for my 33rd visit to the 24H this year.
I'm still on the very long waiting list for a room at the Hotel de France in La Chartre sur le Loir, which was the Aston Martin, Ford GT 40 and Porsche 917 base discovered by John Wyer in the 1950's. I've stayed there many times outside of the race week and its fantastic, but its virtually impossible to get a room during the 24H or Classic weeks unless you are a famous endurance racing personality.
I needed to find a solution for the 24H, so during a visit last year my wife and I purchased part of the Cheval Blanc building directly opposite the hotel. This was also a hotel up until the end of the last century, and was the place where several of the post-race Aston Martin parties were held in the 1950's, including the infamous drinking competition in 1958 after all the cars retired during the night and the team went to drown their sorrows!
For the first time this year, we are offering fellow enthusiasts the rental of a private well-equipped apartment on the 2nd floor of the Cheval Blanc during race week, which sleeps up to 4 and has a fabulous grandstand view of the hotel and all the cars, personalities and action in the square below. The building and view of the Hotel De France is attached below
You can now eat, drink and mingle with these famous drivers and other personalities past and present without the long wait for a room! If this sounds of interest, please visit our website:

Welcome. The apartment sounds a good way to view that crazy man and his horse!
Let me enjoy Mexico please , get back, unpack, wash stuff then I'll repack.I'd forgotten about the horse. Wasn't the owner trying to train it to be tolerant of cars with obnoxious exhausts? He'd come to the right place!
Anyway, is it time to go yet?
Bring us some mezcal back for Le Mans!Let me enjoy Mexico please , get back, unpack, wash stuff then I'll repack.

I'll have to see how it compares to my hammock I already have - which I bought in Mexico 16 years ago. I think the springs may have gone in that time.Do you want a hammock too...incidentally I have some Novosibirsk Vodka...(Juan's Russian GF!)
