I’ll expand on that; mate of mine had a yellow Avenger Tiger, what a weapon! I drove it quite a bit. You will no doubt enjoy yours. Watch for rust on the front suspension ARB mounts.

Jaguar Mark 2, but I did buy that when I was 18 with all the money I didn't have. I still have it.

The one that got away was the Hillman Avenger Tiger - and 40 years later I am about to finally put that right. I have the Corgi model (pic below) and in a few weeks I will have the car :)

Very excited. 1973 MK II Tiger in Wardance Red

People used to laugh at my mate when he told them he had an Avenger, not quite so smug looking at the tailpipe of his Tiger - cool rare car, nice choice.

When i was a kid i loved the 512 Testarossa. I had the 1/18 burago model sitting on my desk and was drawing the lines whenever i was bored in the classroom.
Then the 355 came out when i was a teenager and recall the first magazine article, a yellow spider, was spectacular. To my eyes, probably the most beautiful Ferrari over the past 40/50 years.

Thanks and don't worry I know all about Avengers and rust. My first car back in 1980 was a 1975 Avenger 1300DL in Prairie Wind (Beige!) We had to weld all the floors and sills back in at only 5 years old using old metal shelving. When it went in for an exhaust they kept jacking the front of the car up and the wheels stayed on the ground! I actually part exchanged that car in a private deal for the Mark 2 Jaguar :)

This Avenger will be OK, fully restored and exhibited at the NEC 4 years ago (and yes it is a proper Tiger with all the right bits in all the right places)....

A Sundance Yellow would have been first choice but one day I will also get myself a MK I Tiger which was only available in that colour. This is a MK II which came in Sundance or Wardance (Red) and is rarer in the Wardance. Around 400 built in total.

Need to get a set of Dunlop SP1s for it (£200 a corner!)772787727977280

Yes.
I think maybe the bread and butter 928`s may have softened a bit in price. Excluding the GT and GTS, and S4 SE!
I was a 928 lad as well. Thought about buying one before the Mas but was put off by a mechanic mate's tales of electric meltdowns - as if Italian electrics are better.

Wasn't particularly into cars as a lad, but my only recollection of a car I said I would have one day is the Mitsubishi 3000GT 77285

looks a peach; one quick test is feel the weight of the bonnet, they were about twice the weight of a standard avenger for some reason they used a thicker sheet on them!

Ah that was the Mark 1 which had a bonnet bulge rather crudely added (and a black stripe the width of the bulge as opposed to the standard bonnet fully painted matt black on the Mark 2)

For me it was a Lotus Elan. I ended up owning Europa, Elan and Elan +2 back in the 70’s and 80’s.

The photo is of my favourite, an Elan S3 SE.

Wanted a 3200 and GTI, got both of them and more than one ownership experience. I still have a list of cars to visit and these include Lambo, Alfa and Macca at some point. I focus more on the hot hatches now as they are more my cup of tea than the modern motors.

I'd like to find a good XR2 and an Astra GTE mk1 to add to the fleet as a keeper as some point. Can't beat nostalgia...
