I think the good ones are the best but YMMV.
no it's not

Yawn......
Yawn......
Including many of our parents, I should add. Also, to say, "You have lived to be 80 or 90 so you should just die", as well as being extraordinarily unpleasant, is to dismiss (in the UK) 3.2 million people, who are over 80 (or 6000,000 who are over 90).
It caught you at a weak moment. Happens to all of us from time to time. Stay strong, Stand tall.Ugh. How did I get sucked back into this maelstrom of half-truths and illogic?
where did I say that? Also, to say, "You have lived to be 80 or 90 so you should just die", as well as being extraordinarily unpleasant, is to dismiss (in the UK) 3.2 million people, who are over 80 (or 6000,000 who are over 90).
Well I guess the average age (male/female) depends on which search engine you use......89 for males seems very high from what I’ve seen. (DYOR)I hate to repeat myself, but this is inaccurate and unhelpful.
Firstly, the life expectancy of the average British male is 89 not 81.
Secondly, that is life expectancy at birth; if you make it to 82 your life expectancy is about 89.
So to suggest that most people who die of COVID should be dead already is, as well as being absurd and callous, factually incorrect.
Lucky you, it’ll be a feckin miracle if I reach 65 at this rate.Good grief - I'll be 80 in July!
Better start making plans. Which car do I sell first?
How come so many doctors and nurses ended up on ventilators? Bus drivers, dustmen. These are not elderly people. My husband was hospitalised. You really do talk a load of offensive rubbish!Well I guess the average age (male/female) depends on which search engine you use......89 for males seems very high from what I’ve seen. (DYOR)
Yes, the older you live you are expected to live a bit older. I wasn’t attempting to explain mortality rate calculations.
What’s not in doubt is that an average age of deaths in the 80’s shows that this is an extraordinarily old subset of individuals that are particularly vulnerable to this virus. I’ve watched in astonishment at some of these individuals receiving vaccines....many don’t know what day of the week it is!
There’s nothing callous about this at all. It’s a fact. The majority are in nursing and care homes for a reason.
It’s also a fact that they are crucifying the vast majority of the population via the actions they are taking to “protect” this very very elderly group......at huge social, economic, removal of civil liberties and freedom, educational and health costs to everyone else.
None of which seem to matter.
For now.
<3%.
Viral load, improper ppe. Lack of knowledge re virus given its newness. Terrible government preparation. Open borders. How come so many doctors and nurses ended up on ventilators? I am sure this fact will be of great comfort to those people who have lost someone who was not elderly, and sadly there were lots of them.Viral load, improper ppe. Lack of knowledge re virus given its newness. Terrible government preparation. Open borders.
Pre existing health conditions, obesity, smokers, no health or fitness regime.
Need I go on.
Look at the facts.
Offensive or accurate.
It's all so unknown, the only thing I do know is that I am in no rush to get myself back to Sicily any time soon. It will still be there when this eventually passes. In the meantime I got myself a Cottage in the country, no neighbours absolute peace and quite, sat out today and all I could hear were birds twittering. That will do me for now. ( One downside sh*t Wifi lol.)
Nobody’s saying this isn’t tragic but we know who is vulnerable.I am sure this fact will be of great comfort to those people who have lost someone who was not elderly, and sadly there were lots of them.
Why not lockdown everyone over 65 as an alternative? That’ll take care of around 92% of deaths.
