Sky news Australia waking up to this bol1ocks.

https://www.skynews.com.au/details/_6245368182001
Worth a watch.

Classic Oz comment.

"I can't believe mask mandates are compulsory across all of Queensland, meaning some poor b4stard in Cape York or Mt Isa or Cairns has to go around with a nappy on their head despite the lockdown being in Brisbane. "I just don't see any point at which this hokey pokey in and out system will end and it's very horrifying, not the least for the small businesses that miss out on the Easter weekend."

Queensland update.

Mass Brisbane exodus before 1700 deadline......To Gold Coast/Sunshine Coast.
All bog roll gone.
Tourism operators experiencing huge numbers of cancellations......so politicians tourism economic boost is fecked.

Some are being told to lockdown for 14 days regardless of their test result.
Wtf!

Rumoured to be 2 more cases overnight. (Now confirmed as 8)

Politicians seem unable to explain why the nurse in the covid Ward had not received at least 1 jab.....but they’re still not sure she caught it there.
Thankfully we haven't got the Brazilian P1 variant yet in any significant numbers. Its a much more transmissible variant than anything we've experienced to date and very worryingly, it appears to be much more indiscriminate in terms of age and comorbidity groups it affects. The danger isn't over by any stretch yet.

Well if these experts are correct, they’re gonna need a global plan B.

Disease experts warn Covid mutants could make vaccines useless within a year
Two thirds of experts thought that the current batch of jabs currently going into millions of arms in the UK will become redundant in 12 months or less.

Read in The Mirror: https://apple.news/A1ia4C1rNSrSIQHuW2h9Xcg

When will we just learn to live with this get back to normal and crack on?

We don’t either and frankly it doesn’t matter.
Any Covid variant receives mass panic from those in charge.

Did you know that the average age of covid deaths in the UK was 82.4? Life expectancy was 81!
In Australia it’s 85, once again higher than the average life expectancy.

I see Chris Whitty’s been at it again.
England’s chief medical officer Professor Chris Whitty has warned that people who have had both coronavirus vaccines should not hug their grandchildren this Easter.
Speaking at the Downing Street press conference on Monday, Whitty said people are still vulnerable to catching COVID-19 even if they have had two jabs.

What we’re trying to do is get to the point where all those protections are in place and we are not yet at that stage,” he said, adding that the great majority of people have not had their second vaccine.

He said that those most likely to catch and transmit COVID-19 were in the "younger, unvaccinated group"."The majority of transmission is in younger age groups who have not yet been vaccinated.......Because the people who are most likely to catch and transmit COVID are in that younger, unvaccinated group.

During the conference, the chief medical officer also said that the "wall of vaccination" will get stronger once people receive their second doses but added that it is "not a complete wall, it is a kind of leaky wall."

Leaky wall!!!
What about your ridiculous leaky plan that by your own admission isn’t ever going to be effective as long as children (the least impacted group on the planet which he even said

are vaccinated........oh and by the way it looks like the majority of epidemiologists are sceptical on the longevity of that for everyone!!!!!

Roll up roll up, let’s all inject our kids- who’s up for that as mine certainly won’t be used as a test tube pawn in this ridiculous fear mongering political game?

seems they had to update the face covering legislation, maintaining and disposing of face coverings section is interesting, cant see many people doing any of the recommended stuff and completely oblivious, personally i think it's all a waste of time the mask thing

Face coverings are instead largely intended to protect others, not the wearer, against the spread of infection because they cover the nose and mouth, which are the main confirmed sources of transmission of virus that causes coronavirus infection (COVID-19).”

What?
Why wouldn’t you get people to buy or freely supply N95’s if you’re that concerned....protecting the individual in the best way available. If you’re largely protecting other people why would you ever take it off....like when doing strenuous exercise......that would be threatening the safety of others by its removal wouldn’t it?

I think 99.9% of people think they are protecting themselves by wearing 1, even if it is made out of an old pair of jeans.
If you know you don’t have covid, you’re not wearing a mask to protect anyone else, it’s for you!

Next step will be double masking.....like the US of A.

Why not triple?

Total utter bol1ocks.

Yeah at least a month of national lockdown here and travel no further than 10 kilometers from your residence.
This kicks in from Saturday.
No numbers up yet this evening which makes me think it will be high.
Stay Safe all.

Think what you're pointing to Wattie is no one really knows yet how long a vaccine will protect you for because the virus hasn't been around long enough to know for sure and it might be years before we do know. But if its any consolation, those infected with SARS Coronivirus 1 back in 2003, developed antibodies which are still around 18 years later based upon testing. So if these vaccines trigger a similar immune response then maybe it will protect you for a similar time frame, perhaps for even longer.
For me I am glad that I have had the AZ jab at the grand old age of 59. Any protection is better than none in my book, although I fully accept its a personal choice.

I’m convinced they’re screwing it all up unnecessarily now, inflicting more pain and suffering on ALL society than this virus justifies.
Quite possibly but we are in unchartered territory for most govts, so I am not surprised that they are being very cautious. Glad I'm not having to make these decisions TBH.

Funny how the French have science that opposes Chris Whittys “Missing school is worse than virus for children” science isn’t it.
The science of BS.
I have to say that I am astonished that so many scientists can come up with entirely different interpretations and therefore conclusions around pretty much the same common data set they are sharing with each other. Seems to me that the Scientist's are determining Govt policy, not the actual Govts. Perhaps they have too much of a voice.

What I’m pointing too is that regardless of whether every adult (on the planet) is vaccinated unless you vaccinate children you are always going to be at risk of catching covid (have they proved that being vaccinated stops onward transmission to others yet?).

This “vaccine” will return us to normal line is therefore a fallacy.

Protecting “public health” isn’t just about covid (which its now what it’s become). It’s about the overall social effects of these political actions on society. The impact this is having on the majority far outweighs the “risk” that this virus has on largely elderly/unhealthy/ underlying health compromised individuals.

There’s no end in sight- for many many years at this rate.
