There was a pub called the Cooperage on Newcastle Quayside that had been there in some form since the 15th century which was a great live music venue. They built some flats next door and the residents complained about the noise and now it's shut and in danger of falling down. There ought to be some law that prevents people complaining about a nuisance which already exists when they buy somewhere.

Ive had similar issues in the past with conversion of a property to a house adjacent to a pub which resulted in a curfew on the music licence.

However the worst example by far in the current covid climate is a noise complaint while pubs were only able to operate outside service only.

The complaint was that the noise was recorded outside at 52 to 55 decibels. At around 10 feet away in there garden. To put that in context 52 decibels is normal conversation level and the noise from customers talking was before 10pm at night.

Absolute joke but i still have to deal with the complaint / council / licensing as a result.

Kids are screaming on the local park louder than that which is around 50 feet away and that is fine.

The biggest problem is that if somebody wants to complain it will be classed as nusiance noise if it is 10 decibels above tha ambient background noise. That way they dont have to put a decibel limit in place that businesses can work within.

It shouldnt cost much at all unless somebody adds maserati tax on it for you. From what your saying its probably only 45 mins to 1 hour labour and thats it. 15 mins to 20 mins with with sanding and then 5 mins to 10 mins with G3 stage. Followed by 2 or 3 stages with the DA.

Really? Thought it would take much longer than that. It is very light scratching, but it is on every verticle panel.

So I went and saw a mate of mine yesterday who has lots of very nice cars, and has experienced similar things. He confirmed my thoughts of maybe getting 95 % of it out myself with the DA or use it as an excuse to get a pro job done. He has a contact that would flat the whole car down, for me to then buff up and also recommended a very competant detailer.

I went to see the detailer for his opinion, and am happy to say he said there was nothing on the car that worried him at all, and it would all polish out fine.

He's offered me a seemingly good price on a 2 stage polish, some stone chip touching and the full gtechniq crystal serum ultra package, and to be honest, I'm tempted to go that route.
I've never had a car done professionally, and always thought it was too much money to outlay. But I don't seem to get the time I once did for polishing etc, so think this might be the excuse I need to get it done.
Also, hoping that the ceramic coating might fight off the dreaded washing swirls that always accumulated no matter how careful I am.

PPF options are there as well, but this bumps the price up a lot.

Opinoins and experiences welcome.

Oh yeah.... Also we got back from our family break and the wife came to me to inform me that we have the same thing on 6 of our house windows!

Needless to say, the car is in the garage and I'm up early this morning with a deterrent.

Don't know what's going on with crows at the moment. My missus was attacked by one last week while out running. She couldn't get the thing off her - was attached to her hair and she had to be helped by a passer by. Shook her up.

It's happened to quite a few people on the seafront here according to reports.

Crazy.
Anyway, hope you get things sorted.

Maybe they've all got CROVID 19?

Move next door to a cricket ground and complain when your greenhouse gets smashed. It’s crazy, you knew it was there when you bought the house!!!

A gun or antifreeze breadcrumbs??

ps a 2 stage paint correction will do, don’t need to fork out for ceramic. It’s probably 2 days work so £400-500.

We have recently had a very large confident hooded crow turn up in the garden, and it seems to have driven away the previous plague of wood pigeons. But I will have to watch for bad behavior.
