The reverse lever is just a switch, it's not a mechanical item. So the contacts of the switch may require cleaning or the replacing. You could be lucky with an easy fix.OK so drove the car home yesterday and am pleased with car all things considered.
Had a couple of issues with the car stalling when pulling away which Rockits had already told me about.
Of more concern to me is the fact that I cant engage reverse-whatever I try its not happening.
The lever seems floppy as if there is no feel when moving back and forth.
Any advice[apart from you should'nt have bought the car!]would be much appreciated.
Regards,Gary.
You are not a zillion miles away from McGrath's in KimptonI am in Milton Keynes.
I have been given the number of a guy who does all the mechanical work for Romans in ST Albans.
I was going to give him a shout but if anybody can recommend someone local-ish that would be great.
I had already resigned myself to replacing the clutch.
That's very kind of you Zep-I will take you up on that!If it’s worse when hot it could just be the PIS being incorrectly set. If you can make it to Earls Barton I’ll plug in the diagnostic for you.
