Hi All,
Thanks a lot for the advice, I certainly take Neil's point on the front tyres re going for a wider tyre than the current one. Now I see that on the Merc the fronts are the same width/profile and only the backs are more narrow. I don't know if the Merc's electronic suspension is set up...
Hi Miles,
Good to hear from you. The Merc has 285's for the summer and the 255's go on just fine. I was sceptical but my tyre place here said they'd be fine. I'll check on the wheel dimensions with my tyre dealer but as I think only the profile of the tyres is really critical and there's 5mm...
Hi All,
It's been a while and I have a question that relates to my ongoing plan to get back into Maser ownership. I have a set of winter tyres for my SL55, which are 255/40 R18s all round. I'm wondering if anyone can confirm if these would fit the 18" rims of a 4200?
I have 18" rims on...
Rolled? Ouch, thanks Dave. I'll check with Dem and then see what's what. I'm realising now what a wonderful thing it is to have a car you know well and to have a dealer you can trust. I bought my 4200 from Nuvola in London. I paid top dollar for the car but it was the most reliable car I ever...
I'll see what it looks like then. I have the best detailer in the west so the exterior isn't a worry if there's no actual crash damage. Likewise the interior, so long as the seats aren't badly scuffed or ripped.
I'll report back my findings.
Thanks a lot, Dicky. I've asked for a copy of the service history and we'll see what it looks like. I see that 27-28 grand buys a good car with low miles so I would imagine there is some reason for the low price. The question is what that reason is and whether it's something that can be remedied...
Hi All,
I may be returning to the fold in the near future and am looking around for a low mileage Gransport. Does anyone know this car: http://www.acorncarsuk.co.uk/used-cars/maserati-gransport-v8-2dr-auto-enfield-201206448596590 ?
It seems extremely good value and from the photos I can't...
Frank, how does the new exhaust sound on the overrun? That was always my favourite thing about my Larini system. Ironically I found myself looking for reasons to lift off, just to be able to hear that sound. Naturally though to get to the point of lifting off I was forced to prod hard with my...
Hey Miles, I'm so sorry to hear you've had such a bad time. People like that are breathing oxygen with no honest reason for them to do so. A slow and painful death at the hands of some truly awful illness is the least we can wish for them. Hope you get your pride and joy back on track soon.
Dark blue with a grey interior. I wouldn't have chosen the interior, I do love a cream interior having owned one courtesy of Maser. The dark blue is different though and makes the car stand out from all the bog standard silvers and blacks.
Well Loz, at this stage I'm still hanging around here. You know that feeling when the leaving party your company's thrown for you is coming to and end and the time's come for everyone else to get on with their work and you don't really know what to do with yourself? That's how I feel right now...
well, I do have semi-auto buttons no the wheels and using that mode certainly makes for more involved driving. It's more the overall feel that's a little grey...
2 days after I sold my 4200 I saw a beautiful black GS in Birkdale, near Southport. Very well looked after, something I would definitely aspire to owning one day.
Hi Adam, I'm now the owner of an SL55 AMG. It's got awesome power and is frankly a more comfortable place to sit on long journeys but as an overall experience it's vanilla compared to the naga chili of a Maser.
