  • Good morning. I have a 2004 spyder in Moscow. I was driving the other evening and there was some significant vibration and then a whine when accelerating. The local maserati garage (in fact Ferrari club - not official dealer) tells me that a pipe going into the gearbox came undone and all the oil seeped out. Apparently the remaining oil was very dirty and has small fragments of metal in it. They tell me that they can either put the pipe back and the oil and hope for the best (in fact they tried and there is still a low whine but everything works), or take the gearbox to pieces and replaces some parts (bearings?). Anyone got any ideas as to what I should do? The replacement of bearings is quoted at about $3500.
