    Melbourne Maserati Group Sunday run

The more dedicated members of MMG journeyed to the Victorian countryside yesterday in the usual sunny weather with light winds and excellent roads. Starting in the cafe precinct of North Melbourne after several fine examples of the coffee makers art including a vist from Alvin with his mate's...

Purchased a 1996 QP series IV

Body-wise it has a few parking lot dents which will come out with Paintless Dent Removals on Friday; wheels have the usual kerb rash but will come up a treat (just put 4 new Michelins on), interior is superb hand-stitched beige leather with only the driver's hand rest and central compartment...

Purchased a 1996 QP series IV

Thanks Phil - very much an unloved Maserati, but here in Australia in 1996 the cost was $A193,000! Much more excusive than an ordinary Benz or BMW (and about twice the price!). Driving it here is interesting - nobody knows what it is as there are no badges on the QP apart from a trident on the...

Purchased a 1996 QP series IV

Hi Guys - Roger Holding this end from Geelong, Victoria, Australia - also the owner of a 2007 Gransport couresy of Nuvola a couple of months ago. I've just purchased a one owner 1996 2,8ltr V6 turbo QP for almost no money with a terrific history. Unfortunately, the elderly owner has been in...

    Another GS goes downunder

Thanks Alan - I've decided to collect the Maser next Saturday and take the weekend driving it to Melb. Geoff would have trucked it down, bit I said "if someone gave you the keys to a Maserati to drive it from Sydney to Melbourne, what would any sane person say"? Of course, you'd say...

    Another GS goes downunder

Methinks I'll be taking a couiple of leisurely days to drive to Melbourne - like you, I get very nervous when non-Maserati people handle my cars. I'd rather be sure that the GS will make it to Melbourne safely, especially as the Ferrari Club Concours D'Elegance is at the end of the week!

    Another GS goes downunder

Many thanks, Miles, for a comparison which I also think sums up the different characters of the 4200 and GS. Flew to Sydney yesterday to get my first look at the new beast and, apart from a small bit of corrosion in the usual spot under the rear tailiights, it presents beautifully. Can anyone...

    Another GS goes downunder

Emtee - I'd be interested in your impressions of both cars - I feel the 2003 4200CC is a brute of a car, quite violent and certainly requires a lot of attention, especially accelerating hard in Sport mode. I get the impression after having driven only one other GS that they are a bit softer...

    Another GS goes downunder

Hopefully not too diifferent from the 4200. I love the raw power and feeling of the 4200 and after having driven the Granturismo twice, feel a little disappointed. I'm told the GS is a blend of both, being the last sports car but more refined that the 4200. Sounds good to me! Cheers Roger

    Another GS goes downunder

Yep - that's it. Currently on the high seas in the Grand Phoenix, somewhere past Spain at the moment. I've only seen one other with that colour combinbation, but would have preferred black carpets to offset the beige leather and dash. Can't really complain, though........getting very excited...

    Another GS goes downunder

Hi Guys - Roger Holding this end from Geelong, Victoria, the football capital of Australia. I'm a current owner of a 2003 4200GT (the silver one in the recent pic of Masers at the Barwon Heads Golf Club lunch run a few weeks ago) and Moderator of the Maseratioz chatsite. We certainly have...
