cheers guys, the main dealer has offered me a good price for the QP, I'm naturally fearful that if I hold off this offer may not stand. Whereas If I take the plunge at the gt and perhaps haggle a little, I can trade back in a year down the line but at what cost?
SUppose it is all about cost to change....but I would say if they are offering you a good price then its because of the mark up on the GT......You may get less against a cheaper 4.2 but it's all relative to the cost to change......So I would say if you went for a 4.2 GT at 35k you would get less for your car probably but maybe would lose less in the long run as well. A 2007/2008 GT has done most of its depreciation and is showing signs of slowing down unless it has star ship miles on it. The 2010 car at 43k still has a good chunk of depreciation to do in the next year or so. If you are really looking for a better sound then upgrade the exhaust on your QP unless you really have to have a GT that is...It's a great looking car..........The other thing I suppose is that a 4.2 GT should be cheaper to insure and maybe a biyt lighter on the pocket than a 4.7 maybe...but sure someone who has had both will share their experience......
