Question …. My 2017 GT with 20,000 miles is in for a service and have just been told it needs to shock absorbers and being quoted just shy of £5k plus fitting?

How can they have failed at such relative low mileage?

Is that really the price of these?

Any alternative suggestions?

They are not known to fail I would get a second opinion. Feel free to swing by Sportsitalia and we will check them for you for free.

front or rears?

Skyhook or MC fixed dampers?

MC front shock £400 and £130 each to fit

Skyhook front shock £1000 and £130 each to fit

They will probably require shock bushes so add another £100 per shock

all Inc vat

Thanks sounds like a plan … how do I know if Skyhook? I think it is as it’s 2017 Sport.

Open the bonnet remove one of the rear small engine cover (drivers side best) and if you have a wire coming out of the top of the shock it’s Skyhook. You may be able to peer in without removing the engine cover.
