I found this bolt on the floor when I got home, it must have fallen off this morning when driving in/out of the garage, it looks familiar so will check driveshaft as well.

Mine broke! Bit too heavy footed, but they where loose
Doesn't look like a driveshaft flange bolt, from memory they are a torx head - there are a number of Allen head bots under the car - it could be any one
Get it jacked up and SUPPORTED please before you go underneath with a torch and have a good look

Thanks, rained this morning non stop so could not get underneath then off to the office, we are going try again tomorrow. My neighbor has a pair of ramps so we should be able to inspect everything then. The only plus is that this happened a few mins from home and driving slow.

Indeed. They don't look like that on Eurospares

So today my buddy came over and we jacked the car, there a couple of additional problems.

- First of all the bolt I found is from the prop shaft , you can see another one almost out, so this is the main problem.
- 2nd the diff is leaking and has been for a while, now I know where the smell of burning came from
- 3rd the suspension is leaking so will need repairing or replaced
- finally the noise I heard from the wheel where the surface of the disc is slightly corrugated so it rubbing.

I though it was burnt rubber, carbon makes sense. Re-shaft Ian just told me the bolts and banana washers can be sourced from Eurospares.

The latest is, today I jacked up the car and manage to tighten all the bolts also I managed to refit the bolt that fell out.

It's was a very messy affair and anyone with large hands will have problems as there is very little room to move. If you have a lift it will be easier.

Tested the car on my drive and it sounds much better.

I can now drive to the local garage to fix on Monday assuming the new bolts and spacers arrive. My local garage is about 500 meters so all going well.

Thanks for the phone call Ian, could not have done this without you.

Tony - no problem, I had exactly the same issue as you know, make sure the garage uses a bit of Loctite on the new bolts - I also painted a white line onto the bolt and diff so you can instantly see if it works loose again

Am all done now the noise was the brake shoes, also had the forum discs, pads and right shock replaced.

The rotorflex coupling bolts had also come loose and one was missing, however an easy fix. So worth adding to the checklist for everyone.

I bought the parts myself (new and refurbished) a hefty £500+ saving compared to Eurospares, so an even bigger grin.

It's going to be a great weekend.
