Hi
Have finally caved in and replaced my weeping / steaming radiator after it was spraying into the engine bay

Anyone have a use for the old one? It is not really corroded and the leaking zone is not especially noticable. There is a blue / green patch in the middle of the inner face.

btw anyone else have to chop off the P-clips to remove the power steering cooling loop?

No I managed to get the P clips off. The old Radiator bracket bolts were a different matter!

You could get the old one recored and I even kept my old one with the forethought to do this but it is just getting round to it I suppose and finding a decent radiator fabricator.

Yep - I had to hacksaw through the P clips and replace with new ones with rubber insert.

it is one of those things that if you do not get it refurbed and stored either you will regret it or someone on here looking for one in the future will...........almost begs for a co-op repair and store section??

No fear of ot being junked guys, I have many hours invested in the removal and re-fitting of the bugger.
I was quoted £525 for a recore, so bought new instead.
It will live happily in the garage until anyone else feels brave enough to de-solder it and investigate the problem.

( Could it just be perished hoses internally? :blushed:)

Did you lose all you power steering fluid?
I clamped off the hoses, so lost only a dribble,....................... the second time it was removed. oops! :blushed:

I managed to keep connected while radiator was out by suspending it more or less in place by tie wraps

Blimey, I had one built from scratch for a Matra for £120 a few years ago.
I could get a quote from the guy I use if I had some details about the size of it.

Maserati Radiator prices are just mind blowing, get an aftermarket branded one, they probably made the originals anyway, as Maserati do not make Radiators..!!

Good plan. Maybe my old one could be used as a template. It is only two rads joined by three pips. Two brackets too and bottom plus four up front. Voila!
