3200 Rev Counter

Hi
I,m a newby to posts but have been reading the "site" for ages,great info,very helpfull.My rev counter on my 3200GTA just stopped working,engine perfect,just no movement on the dial.Any suggestions?Is there a fuse for this?Is it an electrical fault?Any help appreciated.

Hi and welcome.

The rev counter is driven by the pulses of the coil so the first thing to check is the engine bay wiring. It suffers from the heat and goes crispy after a while. Buy a multimeter and check for a variable voltage, rising with the revs accross the back of the rev counter. If you have a voltage, your rev counter has gone and you will need a new one, check eBay or David Askew on the sponsors tab at the top of this page.

To get to the rev counter you need to follow the guide dash removal thread, I'll try and look it out for you.

Thanks guy's for all the help.I will start with voltage check and go from there.Great detail on JAGPURR post,hope I don't need it (6'2" and hands like feet!!!) wheels nuts are my limit!Much appreciated.

Hear this! success! I followed instructions as given,dash & cluster removed within one hour!Now getting electrics tested & then its back together again.
Could'nt have done it without all your input.
