Romford to Amsterdam and back; 750 miles, didn't miss a beat, nothing passed me and it happily topoped 160 in Belgium on the way back.... and 50,000 miles under its belt coming out of the dartford tunnel: It has to be 4200 for pure reliability lads!

The only problem with a 3200 is that it is a hit and miss afair with reliability although latter cars were far better nailed together than the early examples. If you are prepared to invest the time and money in sorting out the niggling faults of the 3200 or if you are lucky enough to find one of those rare examples that is already well sorted they are a fabulous car. For reliabilty and an easy life the 4200 has to be the best option but for true drama and those gorgeous tail lights the 3200 takes some beating. Both cars have their merits

The driver may not see those tail ights but what about the gorgeous blond frantically trying to follow you. Like I said both cars have their merits. Unless of course that gorgeous blond likes to follow a Honda :tomato9:

For me it's the 3200 overall. I think it looks better with the rear lights and bonnet vents, it's rarer, the last of the genuine Maserati engines, the interior is better quality (no fake leather like in the 4200), and although the performance is similar, when I get in the 3200 after using the 4200 for a while it feels much quicker - no doubt just the nature of the power delivery, but definitely more of a kick. Conversely, I love the look of the engine in the 4200, I prefer the more instant throttle response when you blip the throttle, and to me the 4200 sounds better. I've put Larinis on mine and left the 3200 standard, but even in standard form I think the 4200 sounds great. Both have been equally reliable and dependable. However, I may be tempted by a Gransport, and this may be my next car - to my mind its looks compensate for the 4200 omissions, it has a more sporty setup and I like the interior.

Horses for courses. However, now I have experienced the howl of a highly strung V8 at 8000rpm+ and the top end pull it has, turbos just don't do it for me any more.
