I don't know if anyone else has had this problem but I found this rubber gasket flapping about the other day. I took the plastic panel off to refix it and, as it wasn't going to re-stick, I cleaned everything up with isopropyl alcohol and stuck it back down with contact adhesive. This seems to have worked but the summer heat will continue to test it ... I would've thought Maserati would've used some heat withstanding glue in such a hot spot(?)!

The problem with using glue on that seal is that you have to remove it every time you replace the pollen filter or repair the wiper mechanism. So it get s removed quite regularly. If you use an aggressive glue here the seal gets trashed when you try to remove it. I think the real problem is that the plastic cover gets harder with age and does not press it against the windscreen as much as the car gets older?

The rubber seal (that presses against the windscreen) is stuck to the back edge of the plastic panel, so it should remain glued to that when the plastic panel is removed to get at the pollen filter(?) My plastic panel is a newish replacement as the old one distorted and cracked, as you say. I think it’s the victim of both summer heat and heat from the engine. I had similar problems on my Jag and it allowed rain water to get into the ignition coils. Fortunately, that can’t happen on the Maserati!
