Seems strange to me that the 612 is the blacksheep of the Ferrari family!!! I mean I own and drive a nice QP, and apart from the QP having four doors.... surely the 612 is being pushed towards those that need or want 4 real seats in their supercar! I would certainly have bought a 612, if it wasnt for the fact that my QP cost me £30k less than the cheapest 612 around.... still, I guess its all horses for courses

Love the back of the 612 and the car in silhouette...It's just the front that puts people off.

It looks good from all angles to me, but then I say that about my classic as well, and most people agree.... until I mention its a Reliant, its amazing the change in some peoples attitude as soon as they realise that one!!! Thanks del boy, youve done me no favours

Cheers Andy, I just hate those ignorant people who hear the name Reliant, and then just switch off. A mate of mine has another coupe with a 5Ltr, but his is with a supercharger. I want it I want it, pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Know what you mean, get the same sort of reaction when I tell people I have a classic Opel, they all just think Manta.....then they see it and change their minds pretty fast.

Its a 1969 Opel GT 1.9L cam in head. Its a 2 seater, body designed in America by the Corvette design team and built in France for Adam Opel, then assembled in Russelheim, Germany.

It was known in America as 'the baby vet'

About 100k units were made, and have revolving front light pods, manually actuated.

All steel body, and all left handers, 80% went to America where they were very popular, and were never really sold here due to no right hand drive.

Great little car, take the badges off and average Jo on the street thinks it a Ferrari. The rear looks very Dino.

Pretty little thing Matt and certainly does have a little Dino about it. I had the 'modern' Opel Manta Coupe way back....handled like a boat. Your GS looks stunning in the pics mate.

Yes, it fecker always sits on my bonnet, so thats why I never garage the GS, air rifle/bb gun is the only thought I had, but if I mis, it could be expensive.

I take it you have learnt never to run up to a cat on your bonnet and shout at it to get it off...........Nice a quiet and lift it off. Saw a friend chase a cat off his 911 GT3...Ohhhh lovely deep scratches.

Its a tasty car Matt, and I fully understand where your coming from re: people and "Oh its an Opel" and Oh its a left hooker!!! As if that makes any difference to driving in the UK. I owned a 98 Camaro Z28 as my daily driver for the last 5 years before getting the QP, and it was a great car. Still, Id love to have the 612 in blue... yummmm

Well I could live with black, silver or titanium to be honest..... but I even got negative comments on the wheels Ive got on my Scimitar (Compomotive split rims, see avatar pic).... you know theres times when I just hate the classic car club attitudes to anything thats not standard!
