Hi, my garage is doing my MOTand the airbag light is on (MOT Failure).
He says he can't turn it off and I'd have to take it to a specialist?

I've had a search through the forums to see if there are any common problems.

Simone mentioned starting the car with a flat battery (this happened after I came back from sea).

I've also read about turning off the passenger side sensor? Not sure if the 4200 has that feature?

Any advice welcome

You could try a full battery reset (search on the forum) and you might get lucky.

More likely your passenger airbag switch is faulty. It is on the end of the dashboard passenger side in the door shut. It is cheap to buy a new one but trouble is even once you replace it you have to get a specialist to clear the light :(

This may not help, but it doesn't necessarily require a specialist, though it might be a bit hit of miss with regard to what kit the garage has.

I discussed here last year, but basically, he has TEXA Axone Nemo diagnostic tool with Navigator TXTs interface, running the TEXA diagnostics software, and it was happy to talk to my 4200, and reset my airbag light.

Of course, you also have to fix the initial fault, which, in my case was the passenger switch (end of dash) which I removed, gave a proper clean with some electrical contact cleaner, and worked to and fro with the key a bit, and it's been fine since.
