Ah, that's interesting. Is it also true that it improves longevity if driven in Sport?

I don’t think there is any info either way regarding sport and (assuming) clutch degradation. Auto does seem to make it very soft and timid (hesitant) at pulling away by slipping it.

Never driven the manual version, I have no issues with the F1 and accept it is of its generation. It may not be the slickest by modern examples.

just remember to pull away positively every time, DON’T lift between changes or you will cause issues, they don’t bang on the gears and if they do it has issues. Bear in mind it is not a dual clutch so not silky smooth either. Invest in matched tyres on each axle and a good geo setup.

Completely agree, you should not have to lift for a smooth gear change.

I never ever lifted with both my 4200 or the 360 keep it planted.

The owner’s manual states that you don’t need to lift off while shifting. If its banging gears while on throttle its likely a faulty clutch release bearing.

Most of the non mechanical parts are Fiat/Alfa based, like the interior electrics and HVAC system.

Heater matrix leaks are an increasing problem and often are heralded by failing central locking modules (located directly under the matrix).

What are the symptoms of this? My car can’t detect whether the driver’s door is open/closed. I’m not sure if I should replace this or the locking unit in the door.

My bad I should have specified the symptoms of a failed center lock module.

When I was in the process of buying my car I had to wait to the dealer got it back off HR Owen where it was having the central locking fixed, not cheap.
