4200 Differential stub axle bearing

Just a heads up that if you get a loud bang from the rear of the car (4200) when you go over certain bumps or drop curbs then it could be a failed bearing in the differential.

My car was carrying this for a little while and was finally diagnosed in 2019 after a few places couldn't find it so it's not an obvious one - maybe it's a rare failure. I had it done last year while the Torque tube was out.

The way to diagnose it is with the car in the air to grab the half axle and give it a hard sharp shove upwards and if it has failed then it will have enough play in it to go clonk, repeat on the other half axle.

To change the gearbox/diff needs to come out of the car, diff removed from housing and new bearing pressed in.
