4200 Gearbox Oil Leak

It appears that my new purchase has decided to mark its territory by lubricating my freshly laid block paving.

I knew from the MOT history that it had this issue.

It's leaking around the driveshaft centreline, but without jacking it up I can't be sure. Whilst I intend to investigate this weekend, are there any known issues I should be looking for?

Again, thanks in advance.

That sounds like the diff oil seals. They are a common failure on a lot of cars.

They aren’t a huge job apparently.

You can get a closer look at the gearchange mechanism if necessary by removing the floor in the boot. The hydraulics are above the gearbox and could be leaking onto the gearbox assembly. You can check the fluid level easier too. Just break the one finger rather than four! LOL
