Mike, Did the first 4200's have MSP? Also I thought the 2003 revision brought new Cambiocorsa gearbox software along with steering rack and ARB? On the GS, the car sits 10mm lower, so certainly different geometry and MSP programming along with the other changes and again I thought the ARB was further strengthened?

The first cars had traction control, not stability control.
The gearbox software can be 'reflashed'
Dont know about any anti-roll bar changes?
Yes the GS is 10mm lower...but still the same springs as the first revised 4200 just wound down on the platforms, which can be carried out on any 4200 the same.

Certainly on mine I wish to change the springs, maybe FD ones.
Debatable on the gearbox flashing, some say the first programming is actually more aggresive...

I have looked at the gransport and maybe if I wait a little longer, they will fall into my price bracket. Do all gransports come with carbon fibre interior bits? Not a fan of that. I think the 4200 is the one I'm going to stick too as I have my heart set on cream interior. But at the moment there isn't one for sale that meets everything I want, so time maybe on my side..

Andyk I had clocked the 19,995 @ Nuvola, but filtered it out as it wasn't on an 05 plate... I assume this was just registered early or did the last face lift kick in earlier than 05 plate?

Having had a 2002 and now a 2005 Spyder they are certainly miles apart in driveability the 2005 cc gearbox is much more precise ,less jerky and the chasis feels tighter .

Hi Blue250, was the 2002 4200 coupe or spyder? If coupe, there is an additional reason why the spyder feels stiffer. Cabrios are stiffer to cope with the missing roof.

Or more the case if the 2002 was a spyder, they had a weak torsional stiffness improved on the later spyders!

All GS has the sport seats and carbon interior.......................And thats the point I made above...If you don't like the interior then why would you buy...For you its a 4200 and with your budget you will get the best.....So it doesn't matter how many times someone says you can get a GS for a little more money it doesn't matter...4200 for you.......Good luck....

Well if a 4200 is what you are after a late type one is identical underneath to a GS anyway.

Sorry for changing a bit the subject, but i have one question: It's well known that early 4200s were stiffer handling and with harder cc changes.

Why didin';t the people like it and looked for smoother versions? I mean, you see a trident with a ferrari engine, why do they want to keep it down?
