50k miles and counting

So the Ghibli is about to pass the 50k miles mark. Still thoroughly enjoying it, and apart from a few minor issues has been a pleasure to own.

I got the car just over 2 years ago, it had 6k miles on and was about 7 months old.

The good bits are..
I know looks are subjective but its a very smart looking car (Blu emozione, 20" Urano and privacy glass). It gets some attention and all of it positive
It handles very well for such a large car. Its on the standard suspension, so rolls a bit more than I like but its mega comfy on a long run, even on the 20" wheels
It doesn't sound like a diesel, especially in sport mode (I know I know, its "false") but it sounds good nevertheless ;)
Its good on fuel (and I know again, that its sacrilege to say that on here lol)... I get around 40mpg on my commute and 50 on a run if I take it steady.

The only issue it has had is that it flattened its battery once on leaving it for a few days, though this was quickly sorted. The sat nav has had a few wobbles also.

All in all I love the thing, and have no desire to change it (I do like the Alfa Giulia QV but on my mileage its not practical)

Whilst my car is 19 months old with just less than 5000 miles. Allow me to echo your thoughts. I ordered my car from new and specced the Skyhook, which still gives a good ride whilst sharpening the handling.
The Ghibli's rivals have the edge in dynamics and technology, the whole point of the car is to offer something different. The looks indiviuduality and of course the badge, for me put it ahead of the competition.

Good to see them taking the miles well.

I'm on 40k miles in my GranTurismo but it's taken me nearly six years to get that far.

I personally think the Ghibli is a lovely looking cars so I dont share your concerns.

It certainly the looker if you put it up against a certain new Alfa that is based on the same floor pan.

Great to hear your positive story.

I've just passed the 22k mark, I was thinking of doing around 10-12k a year, but I've pretty much doubled that. Glad to know I'm not the only one that's using it rather than looking at it.

I echo the handling for such a big car, at times that almost catches me out as it can feel smaller than it is. There have been some tight gaps I've squeezed through that seemed to get smaller when I got there.

I find the economy pretty good too. I get 30 on a run, and 20 around town, and 23-24 on my normal mix.

I also keep half an eye on the QV but, for comfort, I still prefer the Ghibli.
