Probably the first time I drove on the highway ( well, sort of) . At the tender age of 16 years, and without a provisional license, I sat behind the wheel of a much tattier version of this car. With it’s preselector box, chuffing up a familiar hill towards home & the revs dropping as it climbed, I punched the clutch pedal and released it, & in a moment it dropped a gear as it took another bootfull from my right foot and pulled onwards..
Great memory. I thought it was the coolest thing since sliced bread…:0037:DSCF0017.jpeg

504 Coupé a Cool car and still see them here.
Maserati money for a good one…!
A golden era as the designers were churning out some great stuff, and for major manufacturers. Stylish cars for the greater, unwashed…:clapps:

I bought my San Remo from Adam at Hendy - the car you noticed upstairs in their showroom.
It’s a GT under the skin, just with lots of extras bits, such as the micro fibre interior, bucket seats, telemetrics, focal hi-fi, race pedals, etc. In fact, if you use the website configurator and spec a standard car to this level, and choose a special paint colour, it’ll come to more and have a lower GFV - hence the San Remo being the logical choice for me. (I know, man maths, self justification, etc.!!!)

Thought about the S, but it’s too low and stiff for the country roads around here and many reviewers praise the GT more highly, especially if being bought just as a road car. Hope I’ve made the right choice for me.View attachment 123946

Fantastic car Ewan. I see it has been voted as one of the top 25 drivers cars made in the last 30 years somewhere. Can’t remember where I read that. Don’t get that with French cars often. Great choice.
