Neat move by the Tories to avoid a public fight for leader but I can't see them rushing to the polls for that very reason. Let the Labour party tear themselves apart in public. May has plenty of time to legitimise her PM ship

My thoughts too and as May needs a cabinet member to oversee the Brexit, do we think the 2 ladies have already talked and formed a plan of: You step down, I get in straight away and put you in the cabinet to oversee Brexit....of course they have and its a master stroke too. It shows that the need to get Brexit right and do well for the county is more important than personal status and gain.

I think we will be ok you know.

Can I just remind everyone that the BREXIT thread was closed as it served its purpose and was starting to give bad feeling between members.

This thread is starting to go the same way so as i don't want to close another thread, can we keep personal feelings out of it please....and yes, I accept I am guilty of this too.

What was the old rule, "never discuss politics or religion"?

This sort of thing is generally debated better face to face, in a pub, with a glass containing something alcoholic.

PS. I couldn't find a drunk smiley anywhere, felt certain there would be one ;)

Every bet I've had with myself has been wrong for three weeks now,

Exactly this.

You can't out-guess British politics at the moment. I fully expect the queen to abdicate any moment now.

I don't think she will call an election. She is a cautious operator and there is no point taking a risk she doesn't need - Bufferoon's referendum confirms this. Although I am firmly in the remain camp I think she has clearly announced 'brexit means brexit' several times now and I believe she sees it her duty to deliver this.
