I have had the car nearly a month now and I am contemplating changing the exhaust back to stock as i have the originals, however, I am not sure...

Adv:

Sound on start up,
Noise above 3000
Exhaust popping on down changes

Dis:

About at 70 bit of a drone in 6th though ok in 5th.
Bit too noisy in town at 1500-2500 revs
Gets lots of attention(not sure if good or bad)

Hi Brendan....having just the simple str8 throughs.....can identify with the above..... has a deep throbbing grumble on startup/ tickover....sounds fab when in high revs range.....ditto the popping, one of my favs.

In the 2-2.5k range defo boomy/resonance......I slip it into neutral as I sidle in the last 100 yds to the house....careful of annoying neighbours

My advice, FWIW, is go loud or go home! The more the straightthroughness of the system the more of all of your likes and some of your dislikes. Although mine, at 70 and even with the roof down, is quiet enough to hold a normal conversation. Every time I go out, the first time I nail it, I always smile and so has every passenger I have ever carried in it. These things are designed to make the best road car noise there is, so don't restrain it, embrace it!

No complaints from neighbours..........esp as we have a guy down the way who drives his kit car past at speed....makes me and the Maser look like the very paragon of virtue......

Brendan I know what you mean....When I had your car for a week the drone on the motorway would drive me mad...Loved the car apart from that...If it was mine it would have to be changed......There are other sport systems I'm sure that wouldn't drone

Go 50/50 stock and Larini, best of both worlds and you will have enough exhaust's to last twice as long.

I have the Larini system on my 4200 and the sound is sweet! When the garage came to collect it for a service, I watched them drive the car away and I got to experience what everyone feels / hears when the car goes past!

Also on a number of occasions I've big motor bikes approach the car and either sit on my tail to experience the noise or pass me and give me the thumbs up!! Always puts a smile on my face.

I've never had someone tell me the car is too loud (well not to my face :) )

When I bought the car the seller insisted I listen to it standing by the road as he drove by and also in a tunnel!

I have, three times. Funny old thing, all of them Aston drivers (2 drop tops and 1 coupe). Having bought their cars on the promise that nothing sounds better or makes more noise than the tuned exhausts of an Aston they get very shirty when something does. I take great pleasure in dropping a couple of gears and giving a fly-by every time I see one! Happy days!

Brendan, I was speaking to a chap a while back who has Tubi's and he was say there was no drone at all....Heard the car at it sounded really nice as well....Could be an option.

I think the money would be better spent on something that the car may need, I also have the 2 original exhausts.

Think is you could put the original on and make a bit of money on the Larinis as they are in demand....
