And there's me been ridiculing Captain slow Urby for getting a speeding ticket , trying to fight it , and all that palava, just picked up my mail and the dreaded brown envelope , opened it up thinking it was tax or something, hired a van a short while ago to do a job down in Christchurch/Bournemouth and apparently got done by a staionary police traffic van quoted me doing 80mph in a 70Mph

Where do we go from here same a s Urby fight it or just bite the bullet

I have got off two of these in the past about 6 years ago , but it involves going to court and making the police officer look stupid , my info and technique was supplied by a police sergeant on traffic

Was the van white Loz....

Arn't they supposed to be marked with yellow & orange chevrons????

Loz , sorry to hear that... Soo frustrating, probably relaxed by the awsome 60BHP of the van, didn't realise the speed could actually creap up (I drive a van all week yawn!!!).

Loz,
I am hardly the right chap to advise; but you are going to get 3 points and £60 fine for accepting it. It remains on your licence for 4 years. If you don't already have one, is it worth chucking money at trying to get off?
Whilst I live down there and we do have a torrid time with cameras etc. but you have to look and see if you are reasonably likely to get more; given your fleet.
Perhaps you should just take the rap and dine out on the 'I've got 2 Maseratis andgot done in a van' story.

Rotten hard luck though and it doesn't do much to encourage people to come down to the sunny South Coast, does it?
Very sorry old chap.

Yep white , brand spanking new caddy turbo diesel , empty was actually going back down to christchurch to pick up my saws and tools , flew round a roundabout on to a dual carriage way and floored it to overtake a car on the inside lane, if i WAS doing 80 mph it got up there darn quick because i saw the police van up ahead around 300yds off and then hit the anchors , Caddy did fly empty tho well impressed hehehe debating now what to do , i explained earlier that i know a way to get off these especially when sp close to other cars , but it provokes the boys in blue to persue you relentlessly to get even not sure i want that now im up in MK , i had protection sort of , well connections down south and he put a stop to any harrasment straight away

watch this space in the coming weeks

Im laughing at how we were talking bout this.......

Sods law Dem , Mind you ive had a good run , 4 years into masser ownership and never had a ticket , and in all honesty i have been known to overcook it on the odd occasion , opening that letter certainly wiped any smile off my face thats for certain , disaters normaly go in two's and threes's for me . so i will be taking it easy for a while

Better get some track days in instead

Well I know a friend...... That managed to get of it as he said his Greek cousin was driving and gave his address in Greece and this friend..... Got off!! The problem you have though is it was a hire van which I guess your long lost cousin from....(you choose) would not be insured to drive. How about the eastern European chap you had working with you for a bit of cash......oops sorry!
