My sentiments exactly ,but he knew the crack from day one , cant say its easy living out of a suitcase ,did the same for years as a marine cargo superintendant, i travelled 1st class around europe/middle east loading/unloading the 11 ships we had on charter, manic times life full of hotels taxis and airport lounges not fun after the first couple of months but the pay was extremely good for the times , Lewis's pay is 1000 times better, his Millions £££s are making him cocky , and his public image is diminishing rapidly i think his days are numbered , on the flip side the likes of Jenson and Alonso seem to take it in their stride as part of the Job....................

Hamilton is losing fans, he acts like a spoilt kid, wants everything done for him, agree about Vettel Frank, thought he was great on TG last night.

Great drivers should be able to help develop a poor car into a winning car. Hamilton will never be one of the greats because he cant and he wants a winning car straight from the box. McClaren aren't winning races, his solution; go to Red Bull because they are. He is arrogant, big headed and too full of himself. With his pop star girlfriend he probably thinks he is the Beckham of F1 and he can't understand why everyone else doesn't. The guy is a kn0b.

Never liked the guy, I think I could see back then the sort of person he was going to end up being....hate it when I am right.

Matt, is that because "he is black" (as he would say) or because he is a supercilious tw*t?

It is your opinion(s) of course...but I think you are being rather hasrh on Lewis...
I think he has a lot of passion for the game and is one of the most exciting and talented drivers out there,
yes he moans (a little sometimes), but I would like to see him at Ferrari some day, and I don't think that about many drivers.

Enz, it does beg the question "why do most people now dislike Hamilton but still like Button?" Ronny O'Sullivan - very talented snooker player, but a prat. Ronaldo - very talented footballer, but a prat. I could go on. I just don't regard him a a great driver, merely a good one. If he went to Ferrari and they didn't win, would he stay or would he try to get into the team that was winning? There are, IMO, too many unanswered questions regarding Mr Hamilton but I for one am not too bothered as to whether they are ever answered.

i have to agree with Enzo - there is a passion i love and perhaps he hasn't developed alot of tact and social skills, but then he is soo young and do we believe everything we read? I can't imagine what it must be like to be in F1 world - it's crazy money and life.... Funny listening to an interview on Sunday with Jenson at the F1 - he was asked what is the best thing about being an F1 driver - his reply - ask any of us - and they's all say it's the money!

Not sure when his Ferrari days will be - i suspect not whilst Alonso on the team whose there til 2016 apparently... but then Lewis has a good few years... he's like marmite i guess.

Enzo I agree 100%..He is a bit of a devi but a great driver who will win a lot more championships before his time is up......

Hamilton did himself no favours the other week in Canada when he was too busy for a BBC interview (despite the guys having already talked with Steven Speilberg). Seems when LH's hiphop hangeroners are in the pits then his performance goes down the tubes. How can his pit crew perform at 100% when you have pop singers sat in the way all the time?

I think most of the pit lane and 'those who know' (I do not count myself among them!) will say Hamilton is up there with the best of them, if not the best. Only one who can hold a candle is Alonso and Hamilton had his measure in his first year at McLaren. Is he losing his edge... yes. The hangers on, the entourage are taking their toll. On another forum, Nicle Scherzinger (sp?) was likened to his Yoko Ono - could she be his undoing? Hope not.

Vettel is fast but can he overtake? He wins from the front in the best car. A champion but I think unproven, he trailled the championship the whole way last year then won at the last race... to me it felt like a default. This year his dominance has been almost absolute, but when hounded by Button he lost it in Montreal.

Button is experienced and steady with an excellent feel for the car, a 'thinking man's' driver. Ask him to go faster than Hamilton with all things being equal, I think Hamilton would run him ragged! I know they're in the same car, but you get my meaning!

I would not say Hamilton is average, like Lewis has said, i would say he is the best driver on the grid, he always looks as though he is driving at 10/10ths. For me the biggest dissappointment is Massa, has not won a race for an age and when he did win, it was only because he started on the front row, very rare he would start 4th and win. Button is too steady, Alonso is just a prat and he knows Lewis is a better driver than him.

Vettel certainly seems to have the edge so far this season. I know some will say he has the best car but Hamilton had the best car when he won the title if I remember correctly. Hamilton is a quick driver but he gets frustrated and goes nuts. Too rash IMO and he doesn't conduct himself well off the circuit either; driving ban in Australia and telling former world champions to butt out. It's not a good image IMO. Button much more of a role model.
