Happy New Year everyone.
My GT is returning from my MD having had the front, right ABS/Hub Sensor replaced - which they did at a fair price and provided great service.
Before the sensor gave up, the car has for months been flashing up intermittently the dreaded airbag light. So I got the folk from Tracker/Vodafone out who disconected it as the AA had told me there was a draw on the battery when the car is parked up. The car is also kept on a CTech and the battery 3.5 yrs old.
The MD plugged it in and say they can't do anything as they don't like to try and fix airbags - simply replace them due to the ramifications of it malfunctioning post a 'fix'.
I read on the forum a little while ago of the location of the airbag sensor under the bonnet that activates it at the time of a crash and a wiggle of this had cured another member's airbag whoes. Can anyone help?? Or suggest other remedies??
Whilst I'm here - the cost of these bl**dy ABS/Hubs is close to robbery. Funny that we 4.2 owners worry about variators when these can be fixed for the price of the replacement of only 2 ABS/Hub sensors.
Thanks.
Michael
