It cost over10k for the prep and painting, and that's after 5 years off and on body resto... restoring old cars nicely nowadays aint cheap!£60k? I sold mine for £2500 25 years ago Identical model but mine had a contemporary electric (!) sunroof.
Sorry for the drift off topic. Thanks for posting the picture though.
An exceptional taste in motor cars. Though while I respect your reasoning, and appreciate the Quad and the GranTurismo, the 993 RS is special. Was yours a Touring or a full-on sternum-destroying ClubSport? To be honest. having had loads of Porsche RS/ GT3RS, and loads of other performance saloons which I loved to bits, suddenly, one day, I just literally grew out of them. At the age of 75. Mind you, my wife just wouldnt go in them. Too cramped, too noisy, too obvious. .Two years later, these two crackers should see me out, together with a Mercedes SL63------ and our trusty 2009 Touareg! But if someone asked for my take as a long time dealer, on the best car ever------. It might just have to be a Mercedes W124 E60...
Probably one of the better MC features I wrote. An exceptional taste in motor cars. Though while I respect your reasoning, and appreciate the Quad and the GranTurismo, the 993 RS is special. Was yours a Touring or a full-on sternum-destroying ClubSport?
Having driven the E60… it is a very cool-looking thing. Is the premium worth it over a 500E/E500, I’d say no, but full power to your right foot if you get one!
(I’d take an Alpina B10 Biturbo in Europe and a Lotus Carlton in the UK instead though )
My neighbour saw mine and then went and bought an NR….now i have to look at his everydayWell, sold my 993RS and R8 and purchased a Rosso Magma Centennial Stradale and the NRing as well. Both stunning, but the latter is way faster. Will keep posting when travelled some serious miles in both.
Limited edition QuadWhat’s this Nring thing? Have we gone all Tolkien?
