Alloy refurbishment costs ?

This is off an advert......offering to do a set for £245 -

"All wheels are repainted and lacquered, we don't just repair the damaged areas like most mobile repairers. The wheels are refurbished on site using our portable spray booth with the latest state of the art UV lacquer curing system, giving a factory finish.


Please note Magnesium wheels when stripped down will be treated with a conversion coat and epoxy primer before repainting to prevent corrosion."

Seems reasonable?

he became partners with a guy whos been doing it for years and they have just invested 20k on new state of the art equipment and van....
he does london, herts, essex and kent......if anyone is interested ill give you his details....£50 a wheel is bout his going rate

I'd be more concerned on heir stripping process, to have continuous build up of paint is not good, their is a recommended paint thickness so 3rd time round i'd want them completely stripped back to an acceptable level probably bare metal ,

Dem, I will certainly be interested at some point and would like to give your friend the business when I am ready...will let you know...
(Will be the set of khans I have...rubber should be just about done when finished at Llandow next...so then refurb, colour change, ready for new rubber )

Or do they ask you just to leave the wheels themselves , not take on and off the tyres as part of the deal?

no prob enz.....they have done my smart and seat as a way of saying thnak you for some work i gave him with romans....
i know them well and got them a contract to do all their cars....ferrari.....all the cars....they good honest people....

I just had all 4 done with new tyres fitted. Cost £259 [not inc tyres].

This was wheels stripped and repaired where req.
Powder coated & baked
Laquared and baked

Work was done bt Lepsoms who have depts in Swindon and Medway

Thats not a lot Urby when you consider you want to be completely hands free of it , and just simply pick you car up with it all done and dusted so to speak , its the oiks like me that are prepared to have the tyres removed , deliver the wheels and collect them and then have the tyres refitted and balanced , just to save £200

I doquite a few more miles than you and its another 2 tankfulls of essence
