I always pop in Chris Neil's if i am passing, about 30 or so mins from me but there is no other decent dealers in Northwich so dont go too often. Was surprised to see a V8 Esprit, quite rare, that Evora was lovely in Burnt Orange.

The QP belongs to a guy from Supercar Driver, also has a Ferrari 360.

I like the look of the new V6 Exige but i think Lotus is losing it's ethos, IMO the Elise and Exige were the perfect gap between a Mazda MX5 and the Porsche Boxster S. Now Lotus look to be challenging Porsche with a 50k Exige. If this happens then i think Lotus need to make an Elan for around 30k.

Oh and i managed to get some of the new hardback Lotus brochures, picked up the Evora, the Lotus range brochure and the new Elise which still looks so good, that small facelift has worked wonders.

Agree Adam...the face lift was only small but bough the Elise up to date........There is an Elan on the way but again will be around 60/70k I believe......The new Elise will be in the 30/40k...Yes Lotus is moving up market...They have the heritage and history to pull it off...Just need the new cars to be as good if not better than Porsche...On looks alone they have nailed it for me......Just need the dynamics and build quality to be as good and they will sell Adam......

I know I've said it before but this is a ground Lotus has been in before in CHapmans days......I see Lotus as a Porsche hitting...But if you have grown up on Elise I can understand why you can not see that....

I know Lotus can make a car that drives and handles as well as a Porsche, the build quality will be the acid test although i sat in an Evora S yesterday and the inside is very nice.

One of the salesman said it will be a tough project what Lotus are doing and he also mentioned most of the dealers will need modernising if they are to sell 80k cars.

There was a Europa in the showroom yesterday, forgot Lotus made that car.

Europa is the forgotten Lotus.....

The Evora seats are just the best I've ever sat in I think...

Think I would have a Exige over the Europa....Its a nice car but not a fan of the Vauxhal engine in the back.....

Yes i think i would go for an Exige, the engine does not bother me in the Europa it is the rear does not match the rest of the car, very odd looking.

Dark blue....Not the best colour......Saw a Krypton one for sale on PH a few years back...Looked lovely to be honest..

For some reason the modern Lotus has never really done it for me, although the only thing I've driven is an Esprit V8 on a race track. A roll cage combined with a crash helmet makes things 'snug' inside and entry & exit very unglamourous!

I love the classics though and the original Europa has always had something about it for me. It is probably hideous to drive and so I should probably always keep it in my dream list rather than reality. JPS colours - nice!

The last SE ones were very good Adam and looked better on the newer wheels....

It may have been good dynamicaly but it certainly was aesthetically challenged. You can't polish a turd but you can roll one in glitter and that's what they tried to do by putting new wheels on it. IMO!

A man speaking my language! We often christen bad projects tarted up as "like sprinkling glitter on dogsh!t"

Unless the base model l;ooks good, no amount of bling will resucue it.
