Any tips for fitting boot lid spoiler?

Hope everyone is keeping well. I have been slowly getting all the bits done on my GranTurismo. The spacers have been fitted by Dale and Alodus from AV Engineering did a great job on the service. The next item on the list is to fit the carbon fibre boot lid, which has finally arrived from Hong Kong. The boot lid comes with 3M tape already attached. Do I just use this or would it be better to add more stronger tape? I would like to be able to remove it easily if I have a change of mind. Also when fitting the tape do I need to use a clamp or weight to hold it in place for a while?

Thanks in advance.

First of all, rest the spoiler in position to see what the fit is like. Hopefully it will sit quite even along the boot lid and not have a big gap in the middle, or the ends lifted up too far.
If the fit is good, then the 3M tape will be plenty to hold it. (although I always purchase my own 3M tape just to be sure it's genuine)

Then you want to clean the area on the boot thoroughly, using APC or something similar.

Rest it back on and get it central, then put a couple of bits of masking tape on the boot at the ends to mark the position.

Peel back 1 inch of each of the lengths of the 3M tape at the ends, and fold it down so it hangs out from above and below the spoiler.
Lay the spoiler back in position, and while holding it there, slowly peel the tape back the tape. It should pull out from underneath, so don't push down on the spoiler too hard.

Once both strips are peeled and your happy with the position, press down firmly all along the spoiler, and hey presto, your done!

You shouldn't need to fix it down with anything else unless the fit is a bit poor.
If that is the case, then tigerseal is the stuff to use, although it will not be easy to get back off again if you do.

Rather than nails, should I go the whole length with a nut and bolt?

Or go with Sam’s sensible option.

Don't
that would be my tip.

It is only my jealousy - quite like the look on GT. Less sure about the QP so have left mine unadorned.
