Why would you take a Maserati down a rough track like that under any circumstances? Beats me!!

Incredible! How on earth did the driver manage to go so far down such a poor road and how on earth didn't the engine hydrolock?!

Hopefully the next owner of HX53MZO is given full disclosure...

I bet it was one of those situations where you are going down a country road and it keeps getting narrower and narrower, till you are screwed and unable to turn around.

Looks terrible when he has to turn it around. I hope he took it to a garage to get it on ramps and fully checked out.

Has no one ever been on a single track Road that before you know it, turns into a sort of off road single lane track? If not, you must explore more of our countryside.

That's good advice and good fun....if you are in a Land Rover. However, exploring the 'countryside' in a low-slung Italian sportscar is not recommended if you end up green-laning. He was very lucky not to hydro lock the engine in that puddle.

I sort of did that when trying to find Bruntingthorpe, my SatNav took me in what was a dead end yard full of great potholes, not good at 50mph when you are in a hurry, another guy did exactly the same as me though and we had a laugh about it..!!

I was driving through Berkshire trying to find a country pub in a mates Z4. We got the the point where the road, still tarmac'd, had 4 foot high banks either side and only wide enough for one car. We were both praying not to come across a car coming from the opposite direction. The road was a series of corners, so reversing would have been a nightmare!

Turns out, it was the right road though!

All that said. The driver of this car, should have stopped when, if not before, he got to the off road puddle. It might have been a nightmare to reverse out of, but better than a dead car.

The trouble is, sometimes when you have gone to far, the road is not wide enough to turn around, and there are cars behind you so you cannot reverse.... my sort of nightmare!!

Which is why I am particularly careful where I take my Masser.
To the extent that when there were some heavy rains and some standing water of unknown depth, I got my wife to get out of the car and test the depth! On realising it potentially looked rather deep, I had to do a rather embarrassing 7 point turn with a rather large detour, but hey no standing water and so no hydrolock!

He was lucky to drive away with out serious problems. I am not sure my car would manage all that, i think a dozen CELs would appear :)
