The white one looks lovely. It’s a colour which suits the GTS extremely well. There’s nothing wrong with skyhook. Mine always felt pretty good to me (though I should caveat that I never drove one without).

The Sytner car looks lovely, but keep in mind that if you plan on using the back seats very much you’ll be forever wiping shoe scuff marks off that gorgeous grey leather.
Sorry Oliver, one more question than I will stop bothering you. How fluid is the GT market, how often are new cars coming up for sale. If I pass on this Grey one, what's the likelihood of another grey on cream 2013/14 low mileage in coming to the market over the next six months? Thanks

Lol your not bothering me, I know how you feel tho as I was at the fore front of asking a million & 1 questions earlier this week. I haven’t really given much consideration to suspension as I don’t think I’ll mind driving either or. It’s a big heavy car so it’s never going to have wow factor handling (although tbh I think they are pretty good) I’ve been looking properly since about March but for Stra

Sorry my message went potty there , was looking for a Strad. There seams to be a few coming but not necessarily going to quick so don’t rush into it, one will come along (I hope lol)

You are being very precise with what you want which always limits the market. If it helps, approx 500 GT Sports were sold in the UK. Guessing I think that grey is the third or fourth most popular colour after black, white and maybe electric blue. Then you have to take into account that a lot of grey cars will have black interiors, then the fact that there are two main shades of grey but back catalogue colours are not too expensive with Maserati etc etc etc. My view is that if you have found the car you want then you should buy it now.

£53k for the Synter one seems awfully pricey.

Be prepared for a lot more depreciation! You will be losing £5k a year on that.

Been there done that!

Are you OK with that?

£5k depreciation sounsl like a dream, just found out my 2016 Volvo XC 90 hybrid has lost £30k over 24 months hence wiseing up and getting a Maserati being sensible I obovously want to pay the right money for the right car, a three year old car that has lost 1/2 of its value seems right for me. How much do you think the Synter car should go for? It wasn't perfect, few some chips and a bit of wear on the drivers seat bolster.

They say what a difference a weekend makes. She's all booked in for an inspection with AV Engineering on Monday, perhaps this will be my car!

That’s the problem with an inspection. Presented with caution - why would you do one and present otherwise? - it leads to an offer below where the seller wants to be and often realistically is too low. Catch 22, keep offering on cars you have had inspected and taken what the inspection says litterally and you never buy a car.

Yes and it is in the inspectors interests to find every little niggle so as to justify the inspection cost so again a Catch 22. No car would be perfect that's for sure but knowing Voicey he wouldn't have advised an offer if there hadn't been something which needs attention and fixing at a significant cost.

Had her inspection today. Offer made (less than when I started ) rejected, car going back to the forecourt. On the hunt again
So glad I had the inspection
Hi Oliver, do you mind me asking you what came up in the inspection? the more I read but the more I want one but the pickier I am getting about buying finding the right specification, age, mileage etc . It would be good to know what potential hazards to look for.

Honestly buy Geoff's car or MGT's as they are good motors. Stick a facelift front on!

Mines had an inspection by Voicey and Marios at Autoshield. And everything that needed fixing got fixed! I had the bill to prove it!

Dickie doesn't sell cars that aren't mint anyway.

I do agree but I did my best to blinker the minors and shrug them off but in the end you just can’t ignore it all. Partial list to follow

Clutch - was aware anyway
Cosmetic blemishes - ok ignor
Brakes were advised by the dealer at 30.6mm - ok so I have to change in a year . Nope there at 29mm
Front end repair - not a great job
Rear end suspect - panel, boot to be realigned. Can ignor
Slight corrosion inside front arches- can ignor (or get sorted as rest of the car is corrosion free)
F1 pump bit to noisy - hard to ignor
Both Cam covers have leaks - hard to ignor.
Service to be done
Few other minor ish bits
Parking sensors - as expected ignor
All in all it’s going to be 4-5k before it gets to me , then still a clutch very soon, F1 pump, arches to sort (minor) body work.
