I don't know the car, but I've only heard good things about ADG who are selling it, they are one of the sponsors of this forum I believe?

Really? The reviews on Pistonheads are a bit mixed! Hopefully I'm not banned on the second post, if they are the sponsors!

Freedom of speech Troy, nobodys going to get banned, but on here we only hear good things about them these days, otherwise we would not have accepted their sponsorship.

I did some research on this car before buying mine. It's missed 2 annual services which put me off as I was told these are extremely important from both a maintenance and resale perspective. I wouldn't be happy buying a regular car which hadn't been serviced for 3 years, let alone a Gransport!

The car does look in nice condition for the year, worth a look and a bit of negotiating on the price. If it is missing service records, then the price is high.

That's something I was unaware of having not seen the paperwork. On the face of it, it's in great condition.

Yeah, it's missing annual services, but does have last years service but is in fact due another right now. This is what was putting me off. I'm happy to pay more for a fully serviced example, but was being a bit girly as I like yellow!

Wasn't sure how important annual serve was compared with mileage.

There are plenty of other examples out there which have been serviced more comprehensively. I'd say that annuals are more important than mileage for these cars, especially as many don't cover huge miles every year. It was 3 years between services - I reckon it was still more likely to have been used over that time than not.

The important thing about having an annual service is the oils and fluids. Standing in a garage, over time the oils will become slightly contaminated and get worse the longer they sit there. If the car has had an oil change and only covered 2K miles in the year that's fine, but 3 years with the same oil, miles or not it's no good for the engine, or oil seals.

Gents,

I'd be great to have the opportunity of sourcing all of our cars with an absolutely perfect provenence, sadly, as these wonderful cars age, this is not always possible. However, when an opportunity arises to aquire a unique car with a very good history we take the view that it's better to have it than not, warts and all. The Giallo Gransport is a lovely clean example in a brilliant and thoroughly unique colour combination and we think that these facts in isolation off set the fact that it may have missed a couple of annual services mid way through it's life. You are all very welcome to come and see us and take a look yourselves!, Alistair ADG

That is a stunning car. I would get a full inspection done by Giallo, take any precautions they may recommend due to the missed services (if any) and drive her away.

Dont be put off , this is a stunning car in its own right , yes its missed a couple of services , but might have been done by the local jo bloggs garage down the road to the owner who knows , its all in the inspection and test drive , then how good at negotiating you are, get a full service thrown into the bargain and a good few quid off to allow for lack of service provenance and you could well be the owner of a very select few Giallo owners , you will get amazing glances from joe public and even more longing looks from other masser owners , its a wow colour and not a lot of people have the bottle to go for it ..................... if its sound mechanicaly go for it ..................you wont regret it

regards loz

O/T...you've not bought a blue GS have you, judging by the username?

Not my cup of tea, a bit bright

The only way to get a feel for a car is go and look at it, check the paperwork talk to the seller get a feel for it. If it feels good then carry out any additional checks you feel necessary, HPI, Independent review, talk to previous owners etc and you won't go far wrong.
