Ah! Thank you. I assume, as I haven't got any subscription that it is now a useless piece of plastic?Tracker fob

Mine has those, is it not also part of the immobiliser? In that they have to be in the vicinity to allow the car to start.
Indeed. I was told they should be on my person, there are two also in a small pouch, I think they are part of a Cobra Navtrak 5 system. I just have one with the key and never really thought about it much, other than getting it all ripped out lol.Don't think so, but could be wrong.
Simple to test.....

You are correct.Yes, they should be on your person, but I don't think they stop the engine from starting....]

Got a quote for over £300 a year when I picked mine up this year. Saves about £40 on the insurance. Shrugged and moved on.
Mine too except I wasn't offered any saving on the insurance, so the fobs now live in the car so it least I know where they are! That was my experience too, plus the cost of the replacement battery of the tracking system itself which they don't like you to do yourself due to the secrecy of where the unit is located
I think the point here is that all of these aren’t being used; no insurance benefit so no point. I’m sure you’re right if the tracker is active. If you leave an active fob in the car and it’s stolen, won’t that invalidate your insurance? You’re told to make sure the 2 aren’t stored together etc so I’m sure the insurance would give that as a reason not to pay out. I keep my fob either with my phone or if the wife is with me, in her handbag. Keys and fob then nicely separated.

The wonders of car insurance! I informed my insurance company that my Bentley would no longer be kept behind locked gates on my private drive but would be kept on the road. My policy reduced by £30. Go figure!!!!!Mostly. Might be worth checking how much you'll save on your insurance if you subscribe. In my case it was rather a lot less than the cost of the sub. Similarly installing CCTV would have made my premium increase.....
