Found in the back of my garage. Not turned over since its last track day in October 03. Connected the battery, it turned over twice, fired and idled at 1200 rpm. Even the fuel is 7 years old!

As found;

Half way through the complicated and expensive restoration;]

Finished!

BTW it's a 1980 (Mitsubishi) Colt Lancer turbo. It 's been fitted with a Sapphire Cossie intercooler and a Garret turbo. Pushes out about 210 bhp through an lsd and a live back axle. Sideways fun for all the family!

It used to be my daily driver about 10 years ago. It was always known as the Muscat taxi, but it does go well; it only weighs a metric tonne.

I remember them well Benny and there was a good display at Castle Combe at the RallyDay Show with cars comeing over from europe.
My twin brother was into the Starion Turbo whilst i was a Capri V6 driver with both the 3.0s and a 2.8 injection after.
You should have brought it out to Llandau.

Haha, I love that you literally washed half the car. Great colour scheme and now retro-cool.

That is now a possibility for the next one. The handbrake is dragging but it is still fairly frisky. I am going to fit an Omex ECU, junk the original dizzy (with bob weights), raise the boost to get about 250-260bhp and fit a Panhard rod or Watts linkage to control the back end. It is the dogs bolox to drive and I probably wont ever sell it. I don't what it is but it certainly has something about it. Horses for courses Frank but certainly no embarrassment on my part, I love it.

That colour scheme was an option as was black instead of the orange. I went from this to a bright yellow Evo V so bright colours don't really bother me! Never been stopped whilst driving it.Yet!!

.....having said that Dem.......went to collect a Citroen DS 15yrs ago.........hadn't run for 5/6 yrs....in a sunken garage...ie saddle of entrance 2 inches higher than outside/inside.....wouldn't start...and to manually edge it up 1/4 inch by 1/4 inch using a dozen planks then up onto a low loader....belly scraping the ground...................mechanic attached her up to battery.....flung some petrol down the carb....off she went...........as if it had just been stopped up over night.....:)

Hmm.... I have motorbikes like that, not seen light of day for 20 years, not as good a garage find as that though Benny.

I'd think the traffic plod would respect it now as it wears its age with pride.... Pretty rare now I'd think; mind it was pretty rare in its day!

I'm with you on the leary colours - love them but yellow is my favourite leary, blue over all though...
