BBC News - Covid: Halls party with 150 students stopped in Sheffield

How many of these people are woke about the environment etc and want us to stop driving around in our Maserati but whilst we observe the laws they go out and party?

Has anyone else made any positive moves yet with regard to potential normality. I have just booked our hotel and bought tickets for the Gold Cup road racing weekend at Olivers Mount. Many of the worlds top motorcycle road racers have raced at the Mount, top TT riders, it’s the only existing road race in the UK. It’s just a small thing I know, but I think we all need to grab life by the balls, and move forward. Make some plans, the daffodils are already six inches high in my garden, and in all honesty the Sunshine is not all that far away. So let everyone else know what you have done, or shortly plan to do with regard to normality, or as close as we can get to it in 2021.

Booked a holiday abroad for April.....not likely to happen....booked a holiday for October in Cornwall for a week.....
Could be off to Denmark for new job......
Convinced you will get your pasty in October, no problem. And all the best with your potentially new job in Denmark. If you get the job in Denmark will you still go to Cornwall.

We have just booked two adjacent barn cottages to sleep a total of 12 for beginning of July, just outside Shaftesbury. Quite confident that al will be sensible by then, have no intention of going abroad this year.
I assume there are 12 of you, or do you both like your space. Should be sensible by then as you say. But I will definitely consider going abroad this year.

hmm.. So .. We were supposed to be on a 4 or 5 week road trip starting with France, Switzerland, back to South of France, through Northern Italy, down through coastal Spain and ending with 2 weeks at their house in Portugal with my wife, her sister and her brother in law .. 2 issues with it - I am car-less and my wifes c class coupe is not exactly a long distance proposition :) and all the obvious chaos.. so.. re-scheduled to 2022...

Lol - there will be 16 of us but not all at the same time.
As for going abroad, never say never but I just think it’s all too unpredictable, would rather plan for a real blitz next year.

Goodwood booked for mid Sep and hopefully Italy before that... but have a Cumbrian contingency if Europe is still rife with it.

I’ve just cancelled my booking in France with all the kids and partners for April 17th which was postponed from July last year. I’ve got a credit for the time being until October 28th so me and Mrs1963 might get over there later. Our plan for this summer was to tour Italy and Sicily but that’s on the back burner. I might book some car related events in a couple of months. Ooo nearly forgot we’ve got tickets to see elbow in September, delayed from March last year.

Yep booked a cottage in N Wales in April. Cottage on the left of the row and pub is the red building :)

That looks lovely....Hope you get to go

I have a feeling Wales will not open up hospitality or holiday homes etc until at least end of May. working in hospitality and having someone on the inside of the Welsh assembly there is concern that opening up anything before Easter or before the May BH could have the same effect as when they opened up in the summer. They want at least everyone over the age of 50 to have the vacine first before letting people out and about and that isn't planned until May...........

Our industry is expecting restrictions to be lifted end of May but not fully. We are thinking by August BH we potentially could be fully up and running. Who knows though.
