First one of the new season , would love to go but unfotunately just a tad too far Ozzie , like you now its over for this season gonna be lost for a few weekends untill i adjust , its not even like we have good weather to compensate with a good drive in the country , always a bleak outlook for me when the F1 finishes makes me look forward to spring even more

regards loz

Hi Dan, Loz,

As Geoff says its actually late summer and can be nice and warm. I will say just one thing to you. I moved out here 5 years ago and I have never looked back not even for 20 seconds... Its a fantastic place, but you need to like the out door life..

You should come for a holiday and do some recon of your own to see what life is like on a day to day basis, I did twice. Its impossible not to enjoy Aus for a holiday. if you chose to visit Melbourne your welcome to stay with us.
I appreciate the Melbourne GP is a bit far for you UK lads... I was trying to tempt a few of the locals out,, to see what their appetite is like for F1. and Motorsport. But you are always welcome. I normally do a four day pass.... petrol is very much in my vains and always has been since a young boy. F1 is not that big in Australia..

Even when I return to the UK on trips etc, I am always happy to come back home to Aus...

Ozzie,

Hi OzzieAl... I haven't been on SM for a while, so I missed your "anyone interested in the Melb F1" question... although I suspect I'm a bit late, I would have said yes, but I'd be keen to hear what you have planned because Francesco & I have a mate flying in from New Zealand specifically for the race, and we'll be attending in some way shape or form - we are a wee bit behind schedule in terms or organising ourselves, but that is how we roll!! lol

We're also planning on doing all sorts of other things (boozing/go-karts/clay shooting/wineries/sailing/pubs/paintball/golf/a bit more boozing etc etc) but we are definitely planning on trying to squeeze some F1 action in at some stage (maybe catch a few laps of Friday's practice sessions before we head back to the pub!! lol).

The last few years I have been, I've been in the Mercedes tent, so I'm out of touch with what sort of deals are available, so I'd certainly be interested to hear what your plans are - I'm happy to wait till I see you on our Jan 22nd run to Barwon Heads, or you can PM me here is you like?

Cheers... Robert
p.s. needless to say, I expect my car will be getting a bit of use (when we're all sober of course!) and if Frank's Daytona is back, then we'll probably organise some sort of run done the Peninsula or Great Ocean Road or something similar...

I'll speak to you on the 22nd then... sounds like you guys have a number of days roughly planned out. I would be up for karts,Great Ocean Road, boozing, clay shooting, pretty much the lot I guess :) I will also be down at Philip Island next friday for the track day event.
