Ditching the footballer heavyweight already Catman?
I made the fatal error of looking at the long term MPG on it yesterday....
Now in my defence, my expectation when I bought the Continental was not that I would be driving to Reigate and back 3 times per week. I figured a couple of times per month and the rest of my office basis would be in The Monument.
This has proven to not be the case. While there are few places I would rather be stuck in traffic on the M25 than the driver's seat of that car, it's another world when you have range anxiety because you didn't fill up that day....
....you can
literally see the fuel gauge drop.
So it depends on a number of things:
How badly the old 147 fails its MOT by at the end of the month
If my contract gets renewed / extended in February
If I
accept the new contract (the company is challenging, and not in a great way)
And If I need to keep driving round the M25.
If I do, then the 147 is really not the beast for it. The Continental is definitely not, and a Maser GT would be 'unwise'
I could probably do a straight swap from into a petrol Ghibli and get better fuel economy as the 147 while still driving something I like.....
