Best battery for our GS

Hi folks! The question is simple: what’s the best battery (and bigger) we can put into our italian machines?

The OEM 60ah is rubbish and when cold, seems to be agonizing.

I'm sure a 4200 battery is around 80Ah

Go for a Bosch and keep the receipt, it's gauranteed for five years

I've got the S5, didn't pay anything like that much though, only 2 years ago ish, certainly less than £100.

Bosch S5 096 I have been quoted £115 inclusive

Ask them to price match. They'll match online pricing and will also take off postage if the company has a collection option.
Would seem reasonable to assume you'd need to live nearby though. But quite a few places are less - not a big saving but look after the pennies and all that.

Edit: If you go with Bosch they don't use the typical date of manufacture coding.
There'll be engraved numbers/letters on the top which has to be emailed to Bosch (saa.diagsoft@uk.bosch.com).
The S5 I got from ECP this week was delivered to the branch from their warehouse last week - yet it is a March battery.

You can also look up Varta - smae battery. Google "Varta equivalent to Bosch S5" It might be the Varta D15 but a call to battery supplier such as Tanya Batteries will confirm the Varta equivalent. Varta are made by Bosch but priced l;ess than the Bosch equivalent and match the Amp Hours and Cold Cranking Amps (CCA). Given two batteries with the same Amp Hours, I always recommend going for the one with the higher CCA every time.
