Best pads for QP5?

Hi guys, what's the conventional wisdom on QP brake pads please? I need a set of 4 discs for my QP5 Sport GT so I'm buying the pattern discs from Eurospares.

Car's a daily driver and never driven hard. Just interested in any experience with non-factory pads.

Many thanks, Toby

Have the Eurospare pattern disks on mine - no problems with the disks other than the bells need to be painted before putting them on the car. They rust otherwise.

Have used EBC RedStuff - pretty good, work nicely from cold, withstand some heavy driving but I totally destroyed a set on track. Really destroyed them...

EBC YellowStuff on now - very happy with them - are acceptable from cold, work very well for hard driving, and have been completely unfazed on track. No fade...

So, for you I could certainly personally recommend the RedStuff, but not YellowStuff as they need to be warm to perform at their best. Others have put Mintex on their cars and found them excellent for road use, and appalling on track.

Hi Toby, I'm running the FD ceramic pads to eliminate dirty wheels.
They do a good job of that, braking is not to different to standard pads.
They have more aggressive pads but I wanted dustless.

Thanks Bruce, they appear much better value than others - US $229 for a full set. If there's no catch I will head that way I think!

Never realised there was such a saving to be had. Question is do I get the high performance ones, or stick to my original decision of EBC Yellowstuff....

I use EBC ultimax for day to day & yellow for Track days

Ultimax are only £49.00 for Fronts & are sharp & not as wooden as the yellow imo .

I have FD front driled discs .. Work well

Cheers

Hi Drew

Did you need to do any modification to get the Redstuff to work on the front ? I have the rears fitted but the fronts are not going in as the wear sensor is central on the Redstuff fronts but on the original pads it is offset.

No, no mods needed. The notch is in a different position, but the sensor will still fit in just fine.

Would that not leave it sitting under the spring which i assume gets hot. Is that how your cable runs ?
