First of all, is this the Granturismo?
If so, the rears should be 285/35/20 and the fronts 245/35/20..

Then just do this...https://www.oponeo.co.uk/tyre/michelin-pilot-sport-4-s-285-35-r20-104-y-xl-zr#333011947

If only replacing the rears, just be aware that they will have more grip than the pzero up front, especially when cold/damp so may understeer a little if your pushing it. Drive within your limits and all will be fine.
Gd spot, yes its a gts! Typo on the tyre width.

I take it nobody here would advise buying almost new part worns? What age should the tyre be if new?

I have some spare part-worn P-zeros in the garage that I can't face putting back on the QP. Unfortunately they are 19s.

Personally I’d stick with Pirelli to match the front, and I’d have new, not second hand. (Second hand, if you can find them, might be cheaper, buy will need replacing sooner, so why bother.)
P Zero PZ4 are the normal choice, are Maseratis official choice, and offer excellent performance in the wet and dry at anything above low single figure temps. They are a good choice for a Maserati driven in the spring, summer and autumn (which is my use pattern).
But if you use yours daily over winter, you could try the P Zero Winter.

Or, sell your part worn fronts and fit a full new set of Michelin Pilot Sport 4s which are an excellent all year sporty tyre. They won the EVO tyre test in 2020 for best overall tyre. I’ve not heared anyone say a bad word about these.

Same with Mr Willis, maths teacher at my school...

Same here Mr Ormond, Geography and Games, but his projectile was the chalk it would zip past your ear with the slightest graze as it passed - unless he was in a bad mood and then it was clean on the forehead

Now shod front and back by Michelen PS4s. Never had a problem with PZeroes but I'm not the most discerning driver.

P zeros are absolutely fine (actually they are not fine they are very good) for their intended use - sunny day driving. BUT use them in the damp / wet or below 10 degrees and they fall out of their comfort zone very quickly.

I use Pirelli Sottos as winter tyres and PZeros in the summer and will but PZeros again.

Never had a set of Pirellis that work well in the wet and cold hence why I always look to change as early as possible. Personally I wouldn't mine tyres so would replace all 4

I'm not against part worns. I'd rather have 4 part worn MPS4Ss than 2 new Pzero. (as long as they have plenty of life in them. Or get 2new mps4s for the rear, 2 part worn for the front and sell your part worn pirelli.

BUT... If going part worn, make sure you get them from a respectable place and/or inspect them thoroughly for signs of them being run flat, cracks, bulges damage, age etc...

I put part worn mpss on my Nissan GTR prior to a track day as I couldn't stomach melting a new set lol. Absolutely fine all day, getting a lot of abuse and drove home on them afterwards (albeit with a lot less tread) also reached speeds of 170+ on a different day, again no issues. But I inspected them to make sure I was happy.

TBF the Pirellis I had were ok, never lost the back end but they did tramline, really badly. They wore quite well too, had 10k out of them and they weren't new then.

PS4's much better tho.

Pirelli advise that their summer tyre only works on tarmac down to 7C (remember that's ground temperature not air)

Michelin on the other hand advise 4C

If you live in the South of England you can just about get away with running Michelin summer tyres year round but maybe not for much longer if the winters continue getting colder

My Alpina has the Pirelli P Zero ALP specific summer tyres and they have been terrifying until it has got a bit warmer recently... I will be investing in some winters for next season

Maser is due a new set of rear boots for the MOT in April I'm thinking PS4s, Goodyear Asym 5 or stick with the existing Bridgestone Potenzas that came on the car
