Blaupunkt CD Changer.......issues

Help!

My Blaupunkt IDC A09 CD changer in 4200 is causing me grief. Takes CDs in OK(and ejects OK) attempts to play them, lots of noises, stops and CDC init comes up on screen and no CDs recognised. I have had it working once briefly for half an hour in 6 months. Have now fitted an iPOD cable in back of NIT unit, but it needs the changer to be working to get any audio aaaaargh!
Any one any idea of how to solve this problem, or failing that how I can remove the changer in the boot to at least attempt to fix it/check connections etc...do I need to take out all the mats to get to it properly?

thanks

Hmm, I thought the iPod cable replaced the changer? Does it still need the changer there?

Anyway. Have you tried a cleaning disc?

The cables to the changer should be plug n play. You should therfore be able to take it oit using withdraw pins like in an old car hifi system.

the factory units do not get on well with copied disks or the very thin ones that are on the market now.

The audio in these cars is poor at best; rip it all out and install something worth listening too... Maybe even navigation

Bought a Philips head unit for mine which has no CD slot just sd card, radio and Bluetooth streaming. £25 can't go wrong.

Some IPod connections need the CDC some don't. I installed a loud link in mine to replacing the CDC as it was becoming temperamental much better solution favourite CDs on the SD card and the rest of the music collection on the IPod.

Thanks guys....lots of options to choose from then, from changing to a 3200(mmmmm no comment, some very passionate views on here) to parrots, loud link, and philips.......i do love the sound of Marios straight throughs on the V8, but occasionally my son insists on a bit of AC/DC as well so I need to get something sorted.
I shall keep persevering.

I have a similar problem on my Blaupunkt multi changer - all 5 red lights are flashing on the unit and I am unable to insert or eject a disc it wont play either there is no "CD init" flashing on the screen if that helps - hopefully just needs a reset

Is there a reset for this or anyone know which fuse to pull ???

I find the bose in mine is really rather good. The clarity and bass are nice and the only issue I have w/cd changer is that is doesnt play copied cds?

The audio pilot does a good job balancing things when windows are down too.

I did on my 4200 #1...I did a battery re set and it was OK for a while, but would be more prone if using copied or cheep completion CDs

Evening did the reset enable you to remove the naff Cd's - they are home grown copies (not mine btw)

I think (it was eight years back) that it worked if the radio was off prior to the reset.

Well I am pleased to report the problem is resolved - borrowed the tweezers from Mrs P and plucked all 5 cd's from the changer then reinserted the genuine discs (leaving out the snide copies) one at a time very slowly and hey presto works perfectly happy days

Out of interest the same multi changer Blaupunkt IDC A09 is fitted to many Fiat and Peugeot models so worth checking e-bay - as soon as you mention the magic word Maserati the price shoots up
